Plovdiv – Where Young Minds Meet Timeless Ideas
From April 17 to 22, 2026, Plovdiv became a hub for young minds and timeless ideas about the future of Europe during the regional session of the Model European Parliament for Central and Southeastern Europe. The Foundation’s pilot hosting of this prestigious international youth program was a resounding success. Over the course of five days, nearly 100 participants from 10 countries engaged in active civic dialogue and a simulation of the Old Continent’s political processes on issues such as sustainable supply chains within the context of the green transition, the preservation of cultural and historical heritage, ensuring equal access to sustainable digital public administration, the protection of non-traditional forms of employment, EU policy on the integration of Western Balkan countries, and regulatory safeguards in the field of artificial intelligence. Through committee meetings, debates, cultural exchanges, and the concluding plenary session, participants took on the role of Members of the European Parliament, developing solutions, exchanging different perspectives, and reaffirming the values of European democracy in action. Held in the timeless city of Plovdiv, the session created a unique space where young people could connect across cultural boundaries, develop their civic skills, and shape their vision for the future of Europe.
